Hong Kong Cafe

I went to Hong Kong Café for lunch yesterday near Novena Square. Since it had been interviewed by many major newspapers and magazines I’m looking forward to give it a visit and try the food there. And, when I actually get to taste the food there, I was utterly disappointed.

Food we (me and my mother) ordered:

1. Deep Fried Pork Cutlet Rice $8.50

It was not very impressive, in fact, it was quite badly done. I expected the curry to be a little different from the Singapore-Indian style curry since it claimed to be Hong Kong’s most famous and well-liked dish. However, I was more than disappointed when I actually tasted it! It tasted like those “Chap Cai Peng” curry! Furthermore, the pork cutlet is not cut into pieces; it is being served in one full piece! Hey, I don’t have such a big mouth to put that whole chunk of meat into me mouth! Besides all these, it seems like their salt are free of charge, the things there were too salty! I definitely won’t recommend this dish for patrons!

2. Po Luo Bun with Char Siew $1.80

What can I say more about this dish? A Char Siew Bao for $1.80?!?! I can get a Khong Guan nice Char Siew Bao for half of its price!

3. Wanton Mee (Soup) $7.20

I expected something more for this! I mean its 7 bucks; I thought I could taste abalone (Just joking). But seriously, this bowl of Mee is definitely not worth 7 bucks! The Mee itself were not great. And the Wanton actually contain prawns (unfresh ones)! Do they actually know the meaning of Wanton Mee? Wantons are not supposed to contain any prawns! Anyway, as mentioned earlier, the fillings of the Wanton are too salty.

4. Milk Tea (Cold) $2.50

This is supposed to be one of the best and most popular milk tea in Hong Kong, however, I feel that the taste of the tea is too strong, suppressing the taste of the milk.

I still had a very lousy dessert before marking an end to the lousy lunch. I was very disappointed by their quality of food. Maybe that branch that I visited wasn’t too good with the food since it’s their new branch.

The Star Wars ExhiBition

After waiting for a year, we finally went to the Star Wars exhibition at science centre. It was AMAZING! There was this shop inside the science centre which sells Star Wars toys and stuff... They even sells lightsabers in the shop! And being bitches :P, yiying and valerie started playing inside the shop.

不要脸!

Okay, anyway we (ahem... I mean they) spent quite alot of time in that shop. Then we proceed to the star wars exhibition. The exhibition features quite alot of the props they used in the movie and we were quite amazed... Being "Sua Gus" we took tons of pictures! However, I'm too lazy to upload the pictures mainly because I don't think i looked good in the pictures!

Here's one of the few picture that i think i looked okay in it.

Anyway, Star Wars exhibition ROX!

Visit to SGH

I can tell you, my visit to SGH today is terrible and horrible! I wonder if “efficiency” is in their dictionary or not. Anyway, I’m quite fit la, not dying so soon yet. I’m accompanying my grandma to go see the doctor (Cannot ar?!?!).

This is the department we visited:

Anyway, we waited for almost a century. What?!?! I’m being exaggerating? Hey knn I have got proof ok!

See how technology improves as the year progresses:

Anyway, we waited for donkey years before it is our turn to “visit” the doctor. We stayed in the room for less than 5mins and to think they made us wait for about 4 hours a century! There aren’t even check ups!!! It is just prescriptions of medicine nia lor! Btw, during my waiting period, I can see that out of 100 people, only 2 are not sleeping! 1of them is the doctor and the other one is ME!!! Cause I’m busy taking photos of everything la!

Anyway after about 4 hours a century of waiting in SGH, we proceed to the pharmacy. This is another department that requires us to wait wait wait till we die again!

Anyway I walk around the pharmacy to kill some time and I spot this chocolate! It’s for the diabetes patients, being a kaypo kia I am, I decided to pay $5.20 to try it out! But it is on an offer, (Probably because nobody even bothers trying it out)
But it still cost $3.75. Expensive stuff!

Here’s the packaging of the chocolate:

Looks ugly right? YA!! And the contents inside doesn’t taste very nice too! In fact, it is horrible!! It has no texture of chocolates and it is so artificially made! I rather die than eat this chocolate! But, come to think of it, it doesn’t really taste that bad if you are a diabetic’s patient. Well, what more can you ask for? Anyway, for healthy people out there, if you got extra money to spent, try this chocolate lar, experience the taste of sugar free chocolate! (But I would rather u donate your extra money to me)

Anyway, after todays visit to the SGH! I have decided, I would rather die at home than to go to hospitals and wait! It is better to die of sickness than to die of boredom right?

2 Days in JC

I was posted to Innova junior college (IJC) with nobody accompanying me there. Anyway, i went there early in the morning six o'clock and wait for the bloody 187 to come. Knn I waited for half an hour resulting me to be late on the first day (Actually not late, just nearly late)

Anyway, i made a new friend while walking into IJ. Although i don't really know her name, i know she's from christ chruch sec. Anyway we stick together during the long adlur="try dressing by the principal of IJ (Man! this principal lovesss to drag every word she saaaayyyssss) . After that we were split into our clans and tribes. I belong to orientation group 20 with is under tribe Maricopa and under the clan Miccosuuke (don't ever ask me what language is this). After that, we proceed to pay $16 for out T-shirts, Water bottle and Shoe bag.

There are four colours of the T-shirt depending on which clan u are in. I got red clour which is one of the few better looking clours. (The blue colour looks gay)

Here is the front view of the T-shirt

Here's a close up view of the words on the T-shirt (front view)

Here's the back view

Close up view

Actually, the T-shirts are over-sized for me... 1 is L size and the other 1 is XL. No choice, they do not have smaller size anymore. so, just too bad for me lah. I liked their T- shirts desgin alot... And the T-shirts are very comfortable!

Ok, so after the giving out of the orientation packages, we went on to play ice-breakers with our tribe. It is quite boring. Hmm... ... ok... i lied. It is actually very boring . anyway, afyer the boring ice-breakers game, we went on to learn our clan cheer. We were very bored and refuse to shout at first, but then, out orientation group leaders(OGLs) were so enthu... ... So after a long long time, we managed to shout abit la.

Then, it is time for lunch!!! However the food doesn't really taste very nice... ... It is like eating in a french resturant, the servings are small and it is so expensive! Maybe beacause of their small servings, i finished their louya food. Anyway, i managed to spot a few dunearnites during lunch time. Glad to know that I'm not alone! After lunch is out clan meetings and we went down to the stadium to pratice our cheers. The stadium in IF is BIG!!! It ia almost the size of the Bukit Gombak stadium! Then we proceed to out station games. Station games are fun as we get really really wet playing with water and stuff.
After the dirty station games, we went back to the giantic hall for de-brief. We left at about 5:30pm
I slept early that day. It's a tiring and fun day spent in IJ :)

Second Day:
The second day sux! We spent long hours in the hall listening to talks! I sit till my backside also pain they are still talking and talking. Anyway, thanks to the very "good" subjects combinations offered in dunearn, I am not able to get into any of the courses i want. Mainly beacause i wasn't an A maths student!
So... after that, i decided that i will not go to school anymore! What is the use of taking all the arts courses!
Anyway I was quite depress after that lar. Kept thinking if i want to go and take up the Arts courses offered to me or nt. And i decided that I do not want to study so many Arts courses and later end up having the wrong subjects combinations for university. Sad life for me lar.

Anyway, IJ have nice crest, they collar pin looks nice with the colorfull desgin

Here's a picture of the collar pin

Anyway I can advise students taking your sec 2 streaming this year. If your sch doesn't offer A Maths to you. You appeal!!! If they do not want to give it to you still, you and consider doing a transfer to another sch. Cause without A maths, you are going to lose out ok!!! You never know if you are going to be smart when you grow up.
